At Céline, we wanted to blend the artistry of mixology with the soul of music and the comfort of great food. Imagine an intimate lounge that feels like a hidden garden in the heart of Philadelphia, where lush greenery, soft textures, and warm lighting set the tone for connection. From Dream to Celine
We didn’t just find a space, we found a piece of Philadelphia history. The building that now houses Céline was once home to Stapler’s Fabrics, a family-run textile shop that began as a humble pushcart in 1892 and operated here from 1947 to 2007. After the fabric store closed, the space briefly became a school, continuing its legacy as a place of learning, craft, and community.
Years later, Home Hospitality became the first to breathe new life into the building, transforming it into a modern cocktail lounge while honoring its creative roots. The name Céline, meaning heavenly, was inspired by the founder’s daughter. As a father who hated leaving his daughter to work long hours, naming the space after her became a constant reminder of why he pushes through every challenge, to build something meaningful, beautiful, and lasting. Today, Céline stands as a hidden garden in the heart of Washington Square, a place where history, music, food, and cocktails come together to create something timeless.
